- ARINC 802 standard
- Temperature range : -55 / +125°C

For in-cabin routing in commercial aircraft, it’s especially important that cables resist flaming, and minimize smoke and toxicity when they are exposed to heat or flame.

FlightLink™ Cables have been tested to meet or exceed the ARINC 802 standard, which defines generic fiber optic cables for the operational and environmental requirements for commercial aircraft.
OFS FlightLink™ Cables use a 62.5 micron multimode, graded-index, tight-buffer design, ideal for in-flight entertainment systems, in-flight networking systems, and display systems. The tight-buffer design eliminates “kinking,” a common problem with loose tube constructions. Light-weight (an important consideration in all aircraft) and stability over temperature and shock are also key features of this cable.

What is ARINC?

“ARINC Specification 802 is intended to provide standardization of fiber optic cable for the air transport industry. The goal is to avoid the proliferation of different designs of cables to serve the same function on different airplane models...ARINC Specification 802 comprises three sections.
Section 1 provides a general description of hte objectives, scope, the types of cable, and the applicable environmental categories.
Section 2 addresses the desired physical properties of the fiber optics cables. Section 3 defines the qualification tests that may be used to ensure the cables meet the characteristics provided by this document.” – from official documents of the ARINC Standards Committee.

Typical Applications

- In-Flight entertainment systems
- In-Flight networking systems
