ENDFACE PREPARATIONS AND CHISEL FIBERS

These tips are made by polishing or fusion directly on the end of the fiber, without any added mechanical part.The main configurations are ball lens tip, conical, angle or pyramidal end, on all type of silica or sapphire fibers.

The chisel fibers are pig-tails with a micro lens directly polished at the end of the fiber to optimise laser injection. The radius of the lens can be specified from 5µm to 50µm. These endface preparations can be realised on singlemode or multimode fibers, on polarisation maintening  fibers, on metallized pigtails and can have an antireflexive coating.
