- Step Index all silica fibers - Core diameter from 272 to 940µm - 0.22 or 0.29 N.A - Tight bends - High Power transmission
Keywords : Bend radius and High power
HCXtreme is a range of silica /silica fibers for high power in tigth bends. Under high laser power and tight bends, optical fibers can be damaged by stray energy that leaks from the fiber cladding. HCXtreme fibers was designed, developed and tested to address this failure.
Note : short-term or long-term bend radius indicate the smallest radius curve to wich fibers can be bent before breakage or signal loss.To maintain performance fiber should not be bent tighter than the specified minimum.
DESCRIPTION
HCXtreme fibers have a fluoroacrylate coating buffer with a lower refractive index than silica. So this coating acts as a secondary guide light. The active performances of these fibers are better suited for handling higher energy.. During the test down to 2,5mm radius bend, HCXtreme fibers have continued to transmit power without breakage. This construction is available on silica/silica fibers with 0.29 or 0.22 NA.
