DESCRIPTION TCL silica / silica low OH step index fibers consist of a pure silica core with a doped silica cladding, and a polyimide coating. Their numerical aperture is 0,22 and diameter core from 100µm to 400µm. (Other diameters on request).
APPLICATIONS TCL low OH silica fibers are coated with polyimide for operation in temperatures from -65°C to +300°C continuous up to +400°C for short durations. These fibers have a low OH concentration for an efficient power transmission from visible through near-infrared wavelengths. Polyimide coating strips cladding modes for optical noise reduction and is very great for sensing applications.The main other utilisations are high power laser delivery (1 GW/cm2) and near IR spectroscopy. With a USP Class VI non toxic certification and biocompatibility, TCL fibers are ideal for laser surgery and other medical applications.
