- High transmittance from 4µm to 18µm - Low Attenuation at 10.6µm - Fiber diameters from 0.3 to 1.0 mm
DESCRIPTION The development of specialty fibers for the mid-infrared region has resulted in a core / clad Polycrystalline Infra-Red (PIR) fibers. These PIR fibers are non toxic, very flexible, transparent across a broad spectral region from 4µm to 18µm and capable of operating over the wide temperature range of –200°C up to +250°C. They are manufactured in a core/clad structure of superior quality from a silver halide solid solution (AgCl: AgBr) using an innovative vaccuum extrusion method. They have no aging effect compared to an alternative bare core silver halide fiber.
APPLICATIONS Flexible delivery system for CO an CO2 laser up 50W - Flexible IR imaging systems - Remote non-contact pyrometry in the 100-600 K range - Fiber probes for IR spectroscopy.
