Metallization of fiber ends is a technology which has been developed for hermetic sealing in high performance packaging.

The PVD process (Electron beam evaporation) offers the best performances with excellent adhesion and very precise metal layer distribution. Using this process, SEDI Fibres Optiques proposes the technology developed by ATI Optique which allows mass production for large volume applications.

Different materials can be evaporated, mainly Ti, Cr, Ni, Au, either on fiber end or mid fiber by masking the non metallized zones.

All types of fibers can be used and in most cases the product will be specifically designed for customer’s application.
