- Transmission up to Mid Infrared (2 µm to 4.5 µm) - Multimode or singlemode (4 µm to 700 µm core) - Good mechanical resistance - Good power transmission - Low Fresnel losses
DESCRIPTION
These fluoro-zirconate fibers allows mid infrared transmission with a far lower attenuation than any other competing technologies. Material selection as well as manufacturing process have been the key to obtain an extremely low hydroxyl ion content providing a high transmission efficiency from the UV to the mid-infrared (up to 4.5 µm). Besides the refraction index of the material being lower than with other technologies (saphire, chalcogenide) the fresnel losses are reduced. With their excellent mechanical strength, their high power acceptance and the fact that they have virtually no bend loss, these fibers have unmatched performances for all applications in the 2.4 to 4.5 µm wavelength window. Special coating including full hermeticity can be provided for harsh or humid environment.
