DESCRIPTION The fibers for power pumping injection are multimode fibers with a core diameter of 105µm and either 0.15 or 0.22 N.A. The output fiber is either an erbium doped double clad fiber of 125µm or 200µm or a co-doped erbium/Ytterbium fiber of 125µm.
APPLICATIONS Fiber lasers on one side and amplifiers for military and industrial applications on the other side have created a demand for very high pump power. "Power combiners" are components allowing to combine the power of either seven sources into the double clad fiber of a fiber laser or combine six pumping source and a signal singlemode fiber into an amplifier.
